Dear Animal Medical Center Families,
There is no higher priority for us than the health and safety of our patients, staff and their families. With the constantly evolving news surrounding the Coronavirus (Covid-19), we wanted to update you about the measures we are taking for your health and safety, as well as that of our staff. In addition, we will include the most up to date information pertaining to the risk of infection for companion animals.
Wait in your car:
All clients and patients must now wait in their vehicles for the entire duration of their visit. When you arrive, please call us at 847 673-2616 and let us know which service your pet is coming in for. We will then call you when ready and retrieve your pet from you, next to your vehicle.
For prescription refills and food pick-ups, we ask that you order and pay for them by phone in advance. Once again, call upon your arrival and the items will be delivered to your car.
For hospitalized patients, all discharge and home care instructions will be performed over the phone.
If you are sick:
If you are sick, and your pet requires medical care, please find someone healthy to drive your pet to our facility.
SARS-CoV2 infection of pets:
Infectious disease experts and multiple international and domestic human and animal health organizations agree there is no evidence at this point to indicate that pets become ill with COVID-19 or that they spread it to other animals, including people.
If you are not ill with COVID-19, you can interact with your pet as you normally would, including walking, feeding, and playing. You should continue to practice good hygiene during those interactions (e.g., wash hands before and after interacting with your pet; ensure your pet is kept well-groomed; regularly clean your pet’s food and water bowls, bedding material, and toys).
We appreciate your cooperation.
We sincerely appreciate your patience, as well as your cooperation, in joining us to protect the health and safety of our patients and staff. We are hopeful that you and your pets stay healthy, and enjoy more quality time together in the coming weeks.
